Aircooled VW engine builds and rebuilds here at
Red-E Motorsports
From Stock to High-Performance, we have you covered!
The Red-E bullet in our 63 drag strip and salt flats Beetle. 2276cc. We've been running this car since it's inception in 2003 and it's gone through a lot of changes. Currently turbocharged, EFI, crank trigger ignition and more electronics than the Apollo (j/k). This is the engine/intake/exhaust/EFI system we built to run the record 155+ MPH salt flat run for a street legal VW Beetle. Yes, this car is fully legal, passes state inspection, has been registered and insured for the streets for years now and only runs on pump fuel. We may bring it out of retirement to see if we can't beat our 10.29 @ 131mph quarter mile time (only 12psi boost on that run) someday. The swingaxle trans is not "Salt Flats friendly" at the speeds we ran at so it's unlikely it will make runs out there again.
The Slingshot Engine! This was a fun one to build. Two turbo's, custom intake, exhaust, EFI, crank trigger, scavenge pumps, two stage fuel pump, etc! All built here at Red-E Motorsports. We fit a LOT into this pipe rack! Smaller turbo spooled the larger turbo to help it the boost build on the trans brake. With the closure of our local track, this project has been indefinitely sidelined.
A "Bitchin" 2276cc built using the best! Dressed with IDA carburetors with black anodized bits, stainless center-pull linkage, 911 style cooling system and full show-polished sidewinder exhaust!
Jon's 1904cc rebuild with new cooling tins, dual Weber 40 IDF carbs, A-1 sidewinder exhaust, etc. Fun street power!
Joseph's 1600 cleaned up. No longblock work done as the engine was low miles, but a fresh new look was needed before transplanting it into his new car. New tin, powder coated intake, etc. Now it looks as good as it runs!
Top end rebuild on a stock 1600cc. New factory dual port heads, pistons & cylinders, etc. Ready for the customer to re-install and get back to driving!
